Sunday Morning Nelson Dining Hall Breakfast Line The Nelson Court dining hall illuminates cultural truths about our campus. The space functions as a melting pot for students across all races, genders, sexual identities, social classes, majors, etc., thus causing students who wouldn't normally interact with each other to do so. Our group arranged a list of unspoken rules that apply to the space, and explored the causalities of these rules–in addition to outlining the definitive rules. Although we specifically studied Nelson Court, we found that many of our rules can be applied to other on-campus dining locations. The rules which pertain to the dining halls reverberate into other facets of student interaction on campus, giving us a better understanding of social relations at OU.
